Oral health assessment and dental referral

The course is estimated to take about 1hr to complete.

This course is designed to show how non-dental healthcare professionals and/or healthcare workers can optimise a person's healthcare outcomes and promote comprehensive care by integrating oral health assessment and dental referral into routine general health assessment processes in a range of healthcare settings (such as primary healthcare, community services, aged care, children's services and acute care).

You will learn about the following:

  • Oral Health Screening Questions (adults)
  • Oral Health Assessment Tool (adults)
  • Lift the Lip Screening Tool (children)
  • Dental referral pathways for adults and children in South Australia.

You have the option of working through the course content at your own pace and to stop and start as many times as you like without losing your place.

On completion of the course quiz (with an 85% pass grade) you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
