Resource Package

If you are a qualified educator, a suite of educational resources is available to help you facilitate oral health education and training for aged care staff development and/or for students undertaking an aged care or nursing qualification.

Two teaching programs have been prepared; one for the home care setting and the other for residential care.

Staff or students can either be directed to the online resources to prepare for the session or alternatively you can download and distribute information as handouts for the relevant training session.

You will find suggested teaching plans, PowerPoint presentations, teaching activities, audiovisual resources and posters. The teaching programs can be used as-is and/or you can easily adapt them to suit your teaching needs.

You will also find some of the instructional resources are very useful for teaching oral health care for people with a disability or mental health conditions as well as older people in acute care.

The Better Oral Health in Home Care Facilitator Guide (6MB PDF) and Residential Care Facilitator Guide (9MB PDF) were funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services under the Encouraging Better Practice in Aged Care (EBPAC) Initiative.
